Excel PowerPivot and Interactive Visualizations Course Outline


Course Overview
The new analytics tools in Excel make it easy to conduct manipulate and gain insights from big data. PowerPivot extends the use of pivot tables with a data model and offers improved data summarization and cross-tabulation and advanced calculations. Power Query retrieves data from a variety of sources can be cleaned up before being added to data model. Power View create interactive dashboards. Power Map is a 3D visualization tool to create map charts and interactive tours. These tools bring the power of advanced analytics to the average Excel user.

Excel Versions
PowerPivot, Power Query, Power View and Power Map are add-in programs for Excel 2010 and Excel 2013. These programs are integrated into Excel 2016. This course is taught using Excel 2016 software platform. The concepts between versions are the same; minor differences in the interface between versions are explained.

Target Student
This course is for individuals whose job responsibilities include complex Excel reports and advanced analytics.

Prerequisites
Excel Introduction or equivalent skills. Previous experience with pivot tables is helpful but not required.
